Oct. 31:  Knicks begin their 52nd season as a charter member of the NBA with a 97-85 victory at Charlotte. . .Knicks notch their sixth straight Opening Night win.

Dec. 16:  Ewing pours in a season high 34 points - including his 22,000th career point - in a wire-to-wire 83-78 win over Detroit.

Feb. 20:  Jeff Van Gundy notches his 100th career victory as head coach as Knicks triumph at Portland, 98-89, behind Allan Houston's 34 points on 16-20 FGA. . .Knicks hold Blazers' Isaiah Rider to just 3-20 FGA (14 total points).

1998 NBA PLAYOFFS - FIRST ROUND
Game Five (Sunday afternoon, May 3 @ Miami: KNICKS 98, Heat 81):  Knicks cap first round comeback with wire-to-wire Game Five win at Miami Arena. . .Triumph gives Knicks a perfect 4-0 mark in first round Game fives (since '84), and marks only the fourth Playoff triumph for a seventh seed over a second seed (first time in East).

1998 NBA PLAYOFFS - EASTERN CONFERENCE SIMIFINALS
Game Three (Saturday afternoon, May 9 @ MSG: KNICKS 83, Pacers 76):  Ewing scores a team-high 19 points in his first game since return from wrist injury, as Knicks record their second double-digit comeback win of the '98 post-season. . .Knicks' bench outscores Indiana's 37-14, led by John Starks (12 points), Mills (11 points) and Childs (10 points) 

Game Five (Wednesday, May 13 @ Indiana: Pacers 99, KNICKS 88): Knicks' post-season run comes to an end as Mark Jackson records a triple-double (22 pts, 13 ast, 14 rebs) for Indiana as the Pacers closes out the series.
